Disc Replication
CD Replication and DVD Replication refer to the manufacture of discs via glass master and stamper creation. The stamper is placed in an injection molding line to create optical grade polycarbonate substrates that contain the data. These substrates are then finished with metallising and lacquerig processes to create a playable disc. The discs are printed with special purpose offset or screenprinting machines. This is the technique used to create all commercial audio CDs and Hollywood release DVDs. Though this process is known in the industry as disc replication, alternative names are pressing, manufacture and production.

Replicated Disc Printing & Professionally Printed Blank Media
Replicat offer expert advice and assistance on disc printing. We can provide Pantone standard, metallic, matte and flourescent inks, spot UV, special white base and gloss varnish finishes. These printing techniques can be used on either replication runs or alternatively on batches of screenprinted blank CD-R, screenprinted DVD-R or offset printed DVD-R.
These printed blank discs are ideal for photographers, film producers and corporate clients requiring professionally presented media for in-house burning. We can also provide beautifully produced wallets and digipacks to complete the presentation to your clients.

Disc Duplication
Duplicated discs are an important part of our industry. This short run process commences with a blank CDr or DVDr. The blank media is placed in a burner and the data transferred to the disc from a master or hard disc files. Useful for quick, short runs. Not so useful for large runs, or for discs that will be on-sold or used in a commercial environment. The quality controls for replication ensure that a correctly authored CD or DVD will play in any properly functioning commercial player.
Replicat specialises in replication rather than duplication, although we will assist our replication clients with short run duplication as required. Duplication is also known as disc copying.
