Mano Musica
Mano Musica is a recording and mastering company located in Melbourne. We specialise in high-quality location recording and post-production services, primarily in the area of classical and acoustic music.
While there is an emphasis on using the finest equipment available, the music and the way it makes an emotional impact on the listener is at the forefront of our production technique. This is why our masters retain much of the dynamic of the original recording and are not just the 'loudest'.
Monitoring is on Lipinski 707 speakers (described by mastering guru Bob Katz as the best speakers ever made) with a subwoofer, editing is using the industry-leading mastering/recording software Pyramix from Merging Technologies, and we use some of the finest digital EQ and compression available (Algorithmix Blue, Orange and Red EQ and Flux Alchemist for example). We also use Algorithmix Renovator for removal of unwanted noises and audio restoration (“If only the singer hadn't smacked his/her lips in that quiet bit...”).
Selected Projects
Pinchgut Opera, Sydney – recording (in conjunction with Greenside Productions), post-production and mastering of the opera L'anima del filosofo by Haydn.
Producing many projects for ABC Classics including the complete Sibelius Symphonies with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Mozart Piano Concertos with Howard Shelly and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, five discs of French Baroque music recorded at New Norcia, WA, numerous ARIA award winning productions with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, and post-producing the complete Beethoven string quartets.
Producing and post-producing recordings for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the New Sydney Wind Quintet, and a number of organ recordings made in Trondheim, Norway.

Catapult Song Contest Overall Winner will receive:
A complete mastering package, including 1-2 days of mastering time (unattended and/or attended, though space is limited to 1 or 2 band members), all PQ coding and CD-Text, reference CD, and a final error and quality-checked production master.
